Goldsboro Officials Halt Fluoride Water Treatment

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Conflicting information about fluoride prompted Goldsboro leaders to take action.
The city temporarily halted fluoride treatments in the water in June.
A study conducted at the University of North Carolina at Asheville revealed it may cause lead contamination, but experts say fluoride strengthens tooth enamel.
The fluoride injection is expected to resume as soon as state and health authorities reach a consensus.
