RALEIGH, N.C. — Plans to preserve two pieces of Raleigh's past are moving forward.

The City Council approved a $419,000 consultant contract for improvements to the carousels at Pullen and Chavis Parks.

Little and Little Landscape Architects will make recommendations for preserving and housing the carousels.

Voters approved the restoration in the 2003 park bond.
