Jury Deliberations Begin In Murder Trial Of High School Football Player

DURHAM, N.C. — Jury deliberations began Tuesday in the murder trial of a former Durham high school football player.

Matthew Taylor, 17, is charged with killing Sean Owen.

Prosecutors say he and two others strangled and beat Owen and then shot him twice in the head before dumping his body in the Eno River.

If convicted, Taylor faces a mandatory life sentence.
