Fayetteville Bank Robbery
Fayetteville Bank Robbery
Fayetteville police have responded to five bank robberies in the past month. Now, they are asking for the public's help in solving them.

Authorities released a surveillance photo of a suspect who targeted a Bank of America on Bragg Boulevard on Jan. 19. He is described as being a black male in his late 30s to early 40s. He is approximately 6 feet tall with a mustache and possibly a short beard. He was last seen wearing a green toboggan, a green coat with fur on the outer edge of the hood and what appeared to be a light-colored sweatshirt with a hood.

Here is a list of other robberies that occurred in the Fayetteville area.

  • Jan. 19: First Bank, 301 West Broad Street, St. Pauls
  • Jan. 25: First Citizens Bank, Bragg Boulevard, Fayetteville
  • Jan. 26: Wachovia Bank, 4924 Morganton Road, Fayetteville
  • Jan. 26: BB&T, 300 Rowan Street, Fayetteville

Authorities believe all but one of the robberies may be connected. Police are urging banks to make sure their surveillance equipment is working and to review safety procedures with employees.
