Authorities said the gunman entered the BP station at 2570 S. Wilmington St. at about 9:20 p.m., announced the robbery and fired a shot from a handgun into the ceiling.
After robbing the store, the culprit ordered the store clerk and a customer to the rear of the store and fired another shot before fleeing, police said.
The culprit is described as a black man in his 20s with a light complexion, who is 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and of slim to medium build. He had what appeared to be a white shirt tied around his head and was wearing a long-sleeve black shirt and jeans.
