RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police say they have arrested a suspect in several holdups in the area.

Authorities have charged Javon Sherice Ellison, 29, with five counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, one count of strong-arm robbery, one count of burglary, one count of larceny and one count of possession of stolen goods.

According to the Raleigh Police Department, the charges stem from seven incidents that comprised two crime patterns -- one pattern involving four robberies of taxi cab drivers and the other involving two robberies and a burglary in which the victims were elderly females.

Police also served an unrelated outstanding larceny warrant on Ellison in connection with his arrest.
