Police were called to a home on Cindy Drive at about 12:41 a.m. to investigate a stabbing, the Garner Police Department said.
According to police reports, the victim was at his home in the garage when the attack occurred.
The suspect is described as a white male with a slim build, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, wearing a white ski mask, gray sweatshirt and black pants. He is believed to have left the area on foot.
Responding officers, assisted by a K-9 unit, conducted a search of the neighborhood.
The victim was taken to Wake Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
