Murder Trial Set To Begin For Former High School Football Player

DURHAM, N.C. — A former high school football player is scheduled to go on trial Monday for murder.

Matthew Taylor is one of three suspects accused of killing 21-year-old Sean Owen, of Franklinton.

Owen's body was found in the Eno River in Durham in February 2004.

Taylor, who was 16 at the time, was a football player at Northern High School in Durham.

Police believe the motive for the murder was robbery.
