Fire Damages Chapel Hill Apartment Complex

Posted Updated

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Investigators have determined what caused a fire at an apartment complex in Chapel Hill.

The fire started around 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Willow Terrace apartments off Highway 15-501.

The fire started in a first floor apartment by overheated oil cooking on the stove, the Chapel Hill Fire Department said. Nearby units were damaged by smoke and water.

No one was hurt, but at least one resident spent the night away from home.
