This article is not about english.

You're right Vickiej40, there is a nine year old boy in critical condition. My son is nine and I can't imagine what this family is going through. My prayers go out to the family and this young boy.

Gosh, don't you people has bigger fish to fry, learn to pick your battles !!! I pray for the 4 year old,and all involved.

LOL

aja0232 is correct. Whenever you use a phonetic sound that begins with a vowel ("es" as in SUV), the correct choice of articles would be "an" not "a". However, when you would say Sport Utility Vehicle, the word does not begin with a vowel sound ("s"), so you would use the article "a".
