APEX, N.C. — About 2,000 customers are without power in Apex after a contractor working on power lines was shocked.
At about 4:15 p.m. Thursday, the contractor was working on a power line on Jenks Road when he was shocked on the scene. He was transported to UNC Hospitals' Burn Center, where he was conscious and had normal vital signs.
Power is still out in the surrounding area and should be restored in about two hours, officials said.
