DURHAM, N.C. — A man accused of killing his girlfriend has been sentenced to at least 23 years in prison.

Antuanne Shaw reached a deal with prosecutors Thursday and pleaded guilty to second-degree murder of Priscilla Mason.

The single mother was shot to death in September 2004 while working at a Cash Advance store in Durham's Duke Crossing Shopping Center.

Investigators said the two had a violent relationship. In 2002, Shaw pleaded guilty to abusing Mason.
