RALEIGH, N.C. — A measure that could help clear lakes of noxious weeds is moving forward.
The Senate agriculture committee recently passed a bill designed to help get rid of Hydrilla.
The fast-growing weed is taking over Lake Gaston.
The bill allows counties to assess fees to get rid of noxious water weeds. It is already approved in the state House.
