DURHAM, N.C. — A Durham man was arrested Monday and charged with numerous counts of identity fraud, the Durham Police Department said Tuesday.

Henrick Alemba Kutwa, 29, of Morreene Road, was charged with 33 counts of financial identity fraud. His bond was set at $30,000.

Kutwa is accused of using a credit card stolen from a victim in Raleigh to make 33 purchases in Durham over a three-month period.

The fraud was discovered when Kutwa attempted to use the credit card to purchase a room at a local motel and signed the receipt with his own name, which was different than the name on the credit card.
