TABOR CITY, N.C. — The state's newest prison will bring hundreds of jobs to the southeastern corner of North Carolina.
Gov. Mike Easley broke ground on the 410,000 square-foot prison in Tabor City Monday, which will employ around 400 people and house 1,000 high-security inmates.
Construction should be finished in early 2008.
