ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — While fighting over a bicycle Saturday, a 39-year-old man pulled a revolver from his pockets, shot another man in the upper left leg and then hit the victim in the mouth, the Rocky Mount Police Department reported.
The suspect, identified as 39-year-old Louis Henry Shaw Jr., fled the scene on foot.
Police later arrested Shaw on Spring Street at Falls Road.
Shaw is being held in the Nash County jail under $100,000 bond. His first court appearance was scheduled for June 27.
Police did not report the condition of the victim, 32-year-old Fredrick Lee Johnson.
