Posted Updated

CARY, N.C. — The Cary Town Council voted on several proposals Thursday night during its meeting, including the town's budget.

Council members voted to approve the budget, which includes a hike in utility rates and sanitation fees, as well as a switch to curbside trash collection.

The council also approved a special noise easement for new homes near Regency Park. The issue first came up two years ago after a Poison concert.

The measure ensures future homeowners know about noise from the amphitheater. It also gives them permission to take special noise reduction measures in their homes that are not common in other areas.

The council also

voted to move head with plans to build a wastewater treatment plant

, despite objections from community residents.
