DURHAM, N.C. — A man's body was found Friday afternoon in woods off Wilkins Road in Bahama in northern Durham County, sheriff's deputies said.
Officials said the man was a murder victim, though they withheld details.
Investigators were checking missing-person records in an effort to identify the victim, Capt. Paul Martin said.
The body was taken to the State Medical Examiner's office in Chapel Hill.
The body was found Friday afternoon about 200 feet off Wilkins Road, Martin said.
