Traffic is flowing again on southbound Highway 421 after a fatal accident occurred early Friday.
Authorities said the accident occurred shortly before 2 a.m. approximately one mile north of the Pittsboro/Goldston exit.
Investigators have confirmed one person died in the accident. That person's name has not yet been released.
Authorities are sorting out the details of the accident, but they said two vehicles were involved.
