FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The drive around Fayetteville will soon be a little easier.

Construction on the second phase of the city's outer loop is almost finished.

The section, from River Road to Interstate 95, is expected to open in August.

The first part of the project, from Ramsey Street to River Road, was completed in 2003.

Construction on the next phase, which will run from Ramsey Street to the All-American Freeway, is scheduled to begin in three years.
