RALEIGH, N.C. — Two men facing charges in a case of road rage that played out on Interstate 40 were convicted by a jury Friday afternoon.

A Wake County jury found Christopher Bingman guilty of assault with a deadly weapon, inflicting serious injury, possession of a weapon of mass destruction and firing into an occupied vehicle.

The jury found Ryan Mandell guilty of possession of a weapon of mass destruction, but not guilty of assault with a deadly weapon and firing into an occupied vehicle.

Investigators say Mandell and Bingman shot Neil Anderson in the face earlier this year while he was riding in a car on Interstate 40 after a confrontation with Anderson.

Sentencing is now under way.

Anderson has since recovered from the gunshot wound.
