Fort Bragg Soldier Charged With Stepson's Murder Will Not Face Death

FORT BRAGG, N.C. — A former Fort Bragg soldier who confessed to killing his stepson will not face the death penalty.
Joshua Noriega pleaded guilty in the beating death of Lance Totland.
His wife, Jessica, received three years probation under a plea deal.
Totland died during emergency surgery at Womack Army Medical Center in November 2003.
