Fayetteville Customers Lose Power After Overnight Car Accident

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Police say an overnight accident left some power customers in the dark when a car hit a high voltage transformer box.

Fayetteville police said a driver on Boone Trail Extension ran off the road and hit the transformer at about 2:45 a.m. Thursday. The driver then tried to run, but an officer caught him a short while later

Police said alcohol was involved and that the driver will face charges.
