Dept. Of Social Services Sues Durham Public Defender

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham's public defender is defending himself after being sued by the Department of Social Services.

The department claims Bob Brown overburdened its office with requests for information involving more than 400 cases.

DSS is asking for nearly $10,000.

A hearing is scheduled for next week.
