Drivers on Interstate 85 and U.S. Highway 70 may experience delays on Tuesday evening, as Department of Transportation crews temporarily close lanes for construction.
DOT officials said that the lane closures will affect U.S. Highway 70 West at the I-85 interchange and both directions on I-85 between U.S. Highway 70 and Duke Street from 8 p.m. Tuesday until 6 a.m. Wednesday.
The closures are necessary to install overhead signs as part of the I-85 widening project, DOT officials said.
Motorists are advised to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
