Raleigh Police Searching For Bank Robbery Suspect

Bank Robbery Suspect
RALEIGH, N.C. — Despite a massive search Friday, a bank robber is still on the run, Raleigh police said.

Shortly before 10 a.m. Friday, a man entered the Bank of America at

4450 Six Forks Road

, where he announced a robbery and implied that he had a weapon, police said.

The man fled in a 1997 Dodge van, but was later spotted by an officer on Millbrook Road. The suspect then abandoned the van behind a shopping center at Creedmoor and Millbrook roads and fled on foot.

Authorities then searched the woods near the shopping center, but were unable to find him.

The suspect is described as a black male with a light to medium complexion, stocky build, standing about 5 feet 10 inches, police said. Witnesses said he had a deep voice. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.

The N.C. Bankers Association is offering a $5,000 reward for the arrest and indictment of a suspect in the incident. Anyone with information should call the Raleigh Police Department at
