EDGECOMBE COUNTY, N.C. — The Edgecombe Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's assistance in identifying a body that was found in the woods this past weekend.
Residents near Nobles Mill Pond Road, southeast of Rocky Mount, discovered the body of a woman lying in a wooded area Sunday.
Authorities said the women is a black female, 25 to 45 years old, about 5 feet 8 inches and weighing 155 to 165 pounds. She also has had dental work on her upper incisor and a cut on the lower inside part of her leg, according to the sheriff's office.
