RALEIGH, N.C. — A bill to make turning left at some red lights legal failed in the General Assembly.
House members killed a proposal Tuesday that would have allowed left turns on red only on the one-way streets around the legislative building.
Critics argue such turns would be unsafe for disabled pedestrians.
Others complained the pilot project appeared as though it benefited only lawmakers.
