DURHAM, N.C. — Three teens accused of a Durham slaying caught on tape spent Tuesday in court.

Timothy Lamon Uzzelle, 18, Bruce Lee Garrett, 18, and Marque Sowell, 17, appeared in court to answer charges in connection with the May 17 slaying of Ahmed Raja.

Police said two masked males armed with guns entered the Hilltop Food Mart on Hardee Street. One of the men shot Raja, who was working at the store, in the chest. He died at the scene. The two men later fled with a cash register. Investigators later learned a third male was involved, according to police.

On Monday, Durham police, with the assistance from the Cary Police Department, arrested Uzzelle and Garrett at Garrett's home. Late Monday, they arrested Sowell. Police said all three suspects are confirmed gang members.
