DURHAM COUNTY, N.C. — It could soon be a little more expensive to live in Durham County.
Next year's proposed budget includes a property tax increase. County Manager Mike Ruffin recommends a 2.9 percent increase.
The total recommended budget is nearly $592 million. More than $4.4 million is slated for Durham public schools.
The first public hearing on the budget is scheduled for 7 p.m. on June 13.
