Brian DeLuca was a Security Officer employed by the Duke University Police Department, not a Police Officer. Brian DeLuca never was and never would be a Police Officer. He was assigned as a Security Officer to recruit other Security Officers, not Police Officers. I feel that the general public does not realize the difference between the two, (Security and Police) but the difference is grand, and when the media falsely reports stories such as this, it's a great big slap in the face to all Police Officers.
Again to the media, get the story straight before you report it to the masses. Shame on you!
