Posted Updated

HALIFAX COUNTY, N.C. — A computer software problem shut down 911 landline service in Halifax County for much of the afternoon Wednesday.

Calls to 911 made from regular phones would not work. The Halifax County 911 Center was able to accept calls from cell phones.

The problem started early Wednesday afternoon and was repaired about 4:30 p.m.
