Durham Student Struck By Car

DURHAM, N.C. — A girl is recovering from her injuries after a car hit her.

According to Durham police, Naomi Braswell, a student at Southwest Elementary, was struck on Cornwallis Road Tuesday morning as she crossed the road to get to her school bus.

Police say the bus stopped on the two-lane road and had its stop arm extended.

Officers say the driver of the car did not stop, and she faces charges.

Authorities say Braswell is not seriously injured.
