A Cary Kroger was briefly evacuated Thursday afternoon after reports of a noxious odor.

A Cary grocery store was temporarily evacuated Thursday afternoon after reports of a noxious odor.

Shoppers were forced to leave the Kroger at 1273 NW Maynard Road for about 30 minutes after some customers complained of burning eyes and discomfort. One person was transported to a local hospital.

Crews were looking for a possible freon leak.

The store was reopened at about 3:45 p.m.
