Two Durham Teens Injured In Shooting At Wendy's

Posted Updated

DURHAM, N.C. — Police responded to a shooting at a Durham fast-food restaurant Friday afternoon.

The shooting occurred at Wendy's on South Miami Boulevard around 3:45 p.m.

Investigators said 18-year-old Tobias Cooley Jr., a Wendy's employee, had stopped by the restaurant to pick up his paycheck. As he was getting back into his car, police said someone in a green Ford Tauras circled the Wendy's parking lot and then fired several shots at Cooley's car.

Cooley was shot in the hip, and a passenger in his car -- 19-year-old Xavier Moore -- was shot in the ankle.

Investigators said the shooting did not appear to be random. No charges have been filed at this time.
