Former Fort Bragg Soldier Pleads Guilty To Murder

Posted Updated

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A guilty plea Friday closed the door on a six-year-old murder case.

Forest Nelson pleaded guilty to killing his girlfriend, Tabitha Croom, in 1999.

A judge sentenced the former Fort Bragg Special Operations soldier to more than 10 years in prison.

Police suspected Nelson from the start but did not have enough evidence to arrest him until 2004.
