RALEIGH, N.C. — After going around and around, two pieces of Raleigh's past will stay in place.

The city council agreed to renovate two carousels at Pullen and Chavis parks.

Many of the hand-carved animals are wearing away from mold, mildew and peeling paint.

Voters approved a $47 million bond in 2003 to pay for the improvements.
