Man Wearing Bandana Holds Up Durham Bank

DURHAM, N.C. — Police have arrested a possible suspect in a bank robbery that occurred early Tuesday afternoon.

The Durham Police Department said a man armed with a black handgun entered SunTrust Bank on East Highway 54 around 12:15 p.m. and demanded money. He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect got into a white commercial van occupied by another male, police said. Officers found the van abandoned on Zelko Court approximately one hour later.

Around 4 p.m., police officers searched a house on Zelko Court and took a man into custody. Myron King, 32, of Wedgedale Drive, has been charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a stolen vehicle.

No one was injured in the robbery.
