FRANKLIN COUNTY, N.C. — Two Franklin County school employees have been fired for leaving a preschool student on a bus.
A stranger found Erick Alfaro, 5, wandering in the road last month miles from his home or school.
The boy had fallen asleep on the school bus and the driver and monitor never noticed him.
Monday night, the school board confirmed that school bus driver Kerlene Edgerton and monitor Janet Williams were both fired for the mistake.
