Morrisville Police Operation Centers On Aggressive Drivers

Posted Updated

MORRISVILLE, N.C. — When driving in Morrisville, make sure to keep it between the lines, or police could give you a citation.

The Morrisville Police Department is trying to put a stop to aggressive and impatient drivers crossing the double yellow lines and passing stopped traffic to make a turn.

"Operation Centerline is designed to target those aggressive and impatient drivers," said Lt. Allen Rushing of the Morrisville Police Department. "What we want is just compliance with the law."

The penalties for crossing the center line are $110 and four points on a violator's driver's license.

Since April 1, the police department says it has issued 140 tickets at one of the busiest intersections in Morrisville -- the intersection at N.C. Highway 54 and Aviation Parkway.
