Knightdale Death Ruled a Suicide

Autopsy results made public on Tuesday confirmed that a Johnston County man who was found dead Friday morning committed suicide.

A neighbor found Joseph Mark McCann, 45, lying on the floor of his home near the Johnston-Wake county line on Turnipseed Road.

Investigators initially labeled the incident a suspicious death. They now say he had plunged a butcher knife into his chest.

McCann lived at 7105 Turnipseed Road.

Why was this death orginally suspicious, then homicide investigation, then ruled suicide. Is this a Mickey Mouse operation in Johnston County? They had to have some evidence to investigate it as a possible homicide. And to stab yourself 6 to eight inches? Something is not jiving and I think they need to look at this case alot closer. I knew this man very well and as I may be in denial, it just doesn't add up. Please push for a closer investigation.
