N.C. DOT: Knightdale Bypass To Be Complete By Mid-June

Posted Updated

KNIGHTDALE, N.C. — The North Carolina Department of Transportation said a new bypass around Knightdale will be completed by mid-June -- months earlier than originally expected.

Crews have been constructing the $175-million roadway for almost three years.

The bypass spans 11 miles from the Beltline to U.S. 64 Business outside Wendell. It has 25 bridges, and is expected to give travel relief to commuters.

Crews, however, still have some work left to do, such as striping the road and paving some parts.
