RALEIGH, N.C. — The man police say is the skeleton-masked robber made his first court appearance Monday afternoon.

David Talton, 25, who was arrested last week in connection with an April 18 bank robbery, is accused of targeting six ATMs in February. During each attack, police say Talton wore a skeleton mask.

Detectives said Friday that the suspect used the same BB gun in the April 18 robbery that he allegedly used in the ATM robberies.

Talton has been charged with six counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and one count of attempted robbery. He remains in the Wake County Jail on $1.3 million bond.

Talton's wife, Sheri Talton, told WRAL Monday that she had no idea her husband was involved in the robberies. She said she is cooperating with investigators.

Talton's next court appearance is May 10.
