Residents Evacuate Apartment Complex After Bomb Scare

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. — Emergency crews in Cumberland County responded Friday afternoon to a report of a suspicious, explosive-looking device at Family Lodge Apartments on North Riley Road.

The apartment complex was evacuated but, upon investigation, they found the device not to be explosive.

Cleaning crews found the device while getting the unit ready for its future tenants.

Investigators have decided there will be no charges in the case.
