Posted Updated

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. — Two Cumberland County teenagers have been arrested and charged with making a false bomb threat to an area school on Monday.

The Cumberland County Sheriff's Department said the two girls left a threatening note at Cape Fear High School. A 14-year-old suspect was arrested as she attended class on Tuesday. A 15-year-old turned herself in to detectives on Wednesday.

A school official discovered the note in the Cape Fear High School cafeteria on Monday and called authorities.

Both suspects are in custody at the Cumberland County Juvenile Detention Facility without bond.

They will have a detention hearing on Thursday morning at the Cumberland County Courthouse. Officials say they will not release any other information about the suspects, as both are minors.
