Several Streets To Close For Weekend's Dogwood Festival

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The City of Fayetteville announced on Wednesday a list of streets that will be closed for this weekend's Fayetteville Dogwood Festival.

The following streets will close on Friday, April 22 at 6 p.m. and will not reopen until Sunday, April 24 at 8 p.m.:

  • Anderson Street closed at Old Street
  • Burgess Street closed at Old Street
  • Donaldson Street closed at Franklin Street
  • Gillespie Street closed at Russell Street
  • Green Street closed at Bow Street and Maiden Lane
  • Hay Street closed at Ray Avenue
  • Maxwell Street closed at Franklin Street
  • Person Street closed at Bow Street and Franklin Street
  • Franklin Street closed at Donaldson Street
  • In addition, the city said that Green Street will be closed at Bow Street and the Market House from 1 p.m. Friday until 8 p.m. Sunday for the Dogwood Festival Street Dance.

    The Fayetteville Dogwood Festival began in 1982 when the city was proclaimed the "City of Dogwoods." This year marks the 23rd year for the event.
