DURHAM, N.C. — A cab driver is accused of assaulting a student at Duke University.
Hasan Kafi is charged with misdemeanor sexual battery and second-degree kidnapping.
The victim told police Kafi picked her up at a restaurant on Ninth Street. Instead of taking her directly home, she alleged that he drove her around and touched her inappropriately.
Kafi is in jail. His taxi permit has been suspended for 60 days until the investigation is complete.
