Fire Leaves Raleigh Family Homeless

RALEIGH, N.C. — An overnight fire severely damaged the home of a Raleigh family.

Firefighters responded to a call at a house on Buck Jones Road around 2 a.m.

A single mom and five kids all escaped. The children were all under the age of 10.

Firefighters said the fire started in an empty bedroom and smoke detectors went off.

The Red Cross will help the family find a place to stay.
