Raleigh City Council Approves Funds For Aquatic Center In Cary

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — Editor's note: A previous version of this story mentioned the new facility would be near Cary Towne Center. This facility will be located near Cary Parkway. We apologize for any confusion.

Cary is another step closer to its first indoor aquatic center.

On Tuesday, the Raleigh City Council approved spending up to $10 million on the proposed Triangle Aquatic Center over the next 11 years. The money will come from the hotel/motel tax.

The facility could be built on property near Cary Parkway.

The Wake County board of commissioners must now sign off on the proposal.
