Founder Of Golden Corral Restaurants Dies

RALEIGH, N.C. — A restaurant pioneer has died.

William Foster Carl passed away at his Raleigh home over the weekend.

The 63-year-old and a friend opened Golden Corral in Fayetteville in 1972.

The chain now has almost 500 restaurants in 39 states.

There is no word on what caused Carl's death.
